Barb Wellen, special education teacher
Greetings and welcome to LeClaire Elementary School and the CASTLE program!
My name is Barb Wellen and I have been a teacher of special education since 1996. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Eastern Illinois University and started my career teaching in the Edwardsville School District teaching K-3 special education. I completed a Masters degree in Instructional Technology from Southern Illinois University. I also spent 12 years teaching early childhood special education in the Edwardsville School District. In 2012 I began serving K-3 students in a communication disorder classroom, referred to as CASTLE (Collaboration for Autism Spectrum Teaching Learning and Excelling).
